I've been very lazy in my blogging, but for good reason. I've spent the last 2 weeks prepping for my new job with Coast Capital Savings and tying up loose ends at Focus on the Family Canada. I start this new gig on Tuesday as External Communications Advisor and the team is fantastic. I had the privilege of spending a day with them to do a team building activity, and the folks I met were wonderful. A young, fresh team of innovative thinkers - my kind of people! Everyone seems to have so much talent, but individuality, to offer, and it'll be exciting to get to know and entirely new team.
That said, I will miss my creative team at Focus dearly. Actually, more than dearly. I was pretty weepy saying goodbye yesterday, more so than I expected. I didn't leave for any reason other than opportunities to grow and be challenged in new ways. They threw me chocolate fondu party (they know me soooo well!) and gave me a box of Purdy's and a $100 gift card to Mexx for new work clothes! (Photos to come, courtesy of Julie!) What a group. Then we celebrated at the Dublin Crossing, my old stomping ground. It pretty much made for a perfect departure.
It seems I have a two-year rotation going on with my editorial endeavours. My aim is to make this one stick. :) I will miss seeing the tangible product of my hard work each month when the magazine arrives from the printer. But it's time for change. And the Lord has blessed Wayne and I above and beyond what we could imagine from these decisions I am making in faith that He will provide. What a GREAT GOD we serve!
And in one week, a dear high school buddy and I get to throw our other girlfriend her bridal shower/stagette when she is home from Quebec to visit. What a fun-filled week this will be!
You will definitely be missed!
